Tattoo tips
-
Ensure that the area you want tattooed doesn't get damaged before your appointment. Wear sunscreen - I cannot tattoo sunburnt skin! Your deposit may be forfeit if you are sunburnt and I can't tattoo you.
Get a good night's sleep the night before your appointment.
Please shower/bathe before your appointment. I'm going to be up very close to you!
Wear comfortable clothing on the day. Preferably something old, black, and allows easy access to the area being tattooed. Contact me for further advice.
Eat a decent sized meal beforehand
Stay hydrated - don't overdo the caffeine though!

Please tell me if you aren't happy about the design or stencil placement before I start tattooing you. I want you to love your new ink! If anything isn't right we want to fix that!
It can help to have a distraction from the discomfort - we can chat or you're welcome to wear headphones. You may be able to play with your phone or read a book depending on the placement and if you can stay still.
For long appointments I suggest bringing sugary snacks and/or drinks. They can help!
If you need a break or want to stretch - just say so!
If your tattoo is on the front of your neck or chest area is a great idea to bring sunglasses! Then my bright lamp is less uncomfortable for you if it shines in your face.

Remember your new tattoo is an open wound until it heals!
Have quick showers and use plain soaps.
Pat your tattoo dry after showering- don't rub!
Apply a small amount of aftercare cream twice daily. Don't smoother it - use just enough for it to be slightly shiny. I recommend Dr Pickles.
Don't go swimming (anywhere) for 2 weeks. Soaking your fresh ink in water will cause ink to "fall out' - leaving icky blank spots in your tattoo.
Don't pick or scratch your healing tattoo! Picking and scratching will cause patchiness and sometimes even infections and/or scaring! Itchiness is normal - pat your tattoo if it is itchy.
Protect your tattoo from the sun. Your ink will age/fade faster if you don't. Even after healing this will keep your tattoo looking vibrant for longer.
After 4 weeks I can touch up your tattoo if needed.
